So I’m not usually one for putting my angst all out there BUT OMG OMG I’M SO UGH I DON’T EVEN KNOW.
So I”m out of college for about a year, my bf for 2 years. He has not gotten a job-job yet, and has worked at a nice enough part time to pay the bills. We have been dating since Fall 2009. I have not met his family; they are unaware of my existence. He’s always said that a) he’s not supposed to have a gf and b)he’d tell them after he got a big job. He spends a lot of time with them, helping his dad, etc. and I believe him. BUT it’s been TWO YEARS. How is this okay at this point? To make matters worse, ever since he went on a two week trip to Mexico with his family, that he gave months notice for, his work has cut his hours to zero and he’s not one to beg for them to give him more hours. He is STILL looking for work, but now that he is not really working he doesn’t want to go out. Now I get not wanting to go out, but he doesn’t want to come over to see me, doesn’t want to go to FREE events, like movie screenings and a salsa night, etc. and says that because he has no money he doesn’t want to go out. AND we can’t hang out at his HOUSE because HIS FAMILY DOESN’T KNOW ABOUT ME.
I feel like this is just too much. Is this unfair to him? I am trying trying trying to be understanding, like i don’t care about where we go/what we do I just want to see him. But that is a near impossibility. I don’t know what to do at this point.
Edit: I have a full-time job, an apartment, etc. He lives at home with his parents, which is fine except when you can’t go out bc they don’t know that you have a gf. RHGHISKDIGFRFLKDSHFUIG*IUHDIOVCHGYERi
